Trolling For Power.
I have been following the troll activity on MyDD for several months. I go trolling myself when I'm bored, so it's fascinating to watch the fishing expeditions and contests at my favorite progressive site. An example of a typical troll is a pro-Hillary troll who arrived at MyDD on 6.29 and has been there ever since. S/he didn't like the fact that Matt Stoller posted a funny uTube of Hillary, and then magically appeared to tell us so.
At first, I thought the infiltrators were young Republicans. I figured the young trolls (because they weren't very good at it) were stirring up trouble with the hope that the lefties would abandon Hillary for a third party candidate.
But I read an article in the
New Republic last night that chilled me to the bone.
With her front-runner status, Clinton doesn't need to actually win the blogosphere outright; she just needs to make sure no one else does.
These trolls were easy to spot, but difficult to figure out. It's not enough that they call everyone but them hillary-haters, but also Naderite and PINO. They should have joined earlier, and lurked a little before jumping in. They stick out like sore thumbs. Especially the trolls that migrated from dailyKos with their email-list entourage. Enough said, for now.
