A Little Night Music. My ex is upstate visiting his family, I think. My neighbor sees him. So, I found out that he's not roofing anymore and that he wants me to answer the phone. Yeah, right. He can wait for as long as it has been since Bob Dylan wrote this song.

I found another version of Che Che Cole. Hector Lavoe. I really have to do something about my youtube habit.

Rhythm and Blues Rocks.
Time to stash some of these videos away in July. I couldn't find the bad boys' (especially in 1964) rendition of the Spider to the Fly, so this will have to do.

I'm On Vacation :)
My daughter's in England, visiting her gf. My other daughter is in Colorado, interviewing for a job. Their planes didn't crash. Obama is having a good week. All is well.
So why am I listening to John Darnielle (The Mountain Goats,) Palmcorder Yajna? No ... I don't comb carpets for clues. I'm just thinking of someone I know who does and I'm getting the hives (again.) The other video on YouTube would have been better if the audience's clapping wasn't so annoying.

Manic.Good things. I went drinking liberally. I hooked up with my daughter and her gf....Bad things. I kept hearing Shaman's Blues in my head all night. Driving was scary.
I'm Going To Let Him Fly.
This is Patty Griffin's song, but I love the Dixie Chicks rendition.

Hey. the Pixies.
In honor of the six month anniversary of my break up. He doesn't come by anymore to leave little signs, like he used to do ... maybe, because I left a couple of his gifts to me outside with a mean note. He doesn't wait for me along the route that I take to work, like he used to do ... maybe because I leave twenty minutes earlier than when we were together. I just don't know. I sense that he moved out west to be close to the Everglades.
It's raining. A cold front is moving in from the north. The temperature is supposed to drop to the 50's. I'm sick as a dog and I can't stand these winter rains. If you like bluegrass, catch Dale Ann Bradley's cover of this song. It's amazing.

Those famous lips are lip syncing. When the Rolling Stones toured the US for the first time, I remember a poll about them on the radio. More people didn't like them than did like them. They turned from rhythm and blues to rock and roll. The rest is history.

For All The People Who Have Died.
"It's a Shame about Ray." What ever happened to The Lemonheads? I'm still thinking of my ex.

The Best Concert I Ever Saw, Hands Down. "You Know You Know," Mahavishnu Orchestra. You had to have been there. Jan Hammer made it look easy to play that Moog synthesizer. Jerry Goodman had a blue violin. Billy Cobham had two sets of drums and he jumped back and forth from set to set. The concert that I went to was wild, in a little cafeteria where we sat on the floor like packed sardines. This video does a good job of capturing their genius, before John Mclaughlin got strung out.

Or This. "History Repeating," The Propellerheads and Shirley Bassey. Different? Hell, yes.

It Doesn't Get Much Better Than This. Pixies, "No. 13 Baby." I can't find a decent live version, so this will have to do. Joey Santiago is my favorite guitarist who is still alive. Kim Deal is the hottest member of the band, and my favorite bass guitarist. Black Francis is probably the only person on the planet that I truly relate to.
If I could only have one rock song on my itunes, this would be it. No 13 is the thirteenth letter of the alphabet, m, for marijuana. You know, like 420.

The President's Dead ... not in rl. "the president's dead," by Okkervil River. You have to listen to the lyrics to really understand the song. I love YouTube.

I'm Thinking Of My Ex.
"Che Che Cole," Willie Colon, Hector Lavoe, and Machito. If you watch closely, you'll see an Elvis doppleganger. The second song is boring, but I really loved Che Che Cole when I was a teenager. The song brings back memories of me at the beach with all my friends. I once spent the weekend walking from Gorgona to Santa Clara. It was one of the coolest thing I ever did. Building fires to cook the food. Bathing in a river.

"The Hampster Song," Hampton And The Hampsters.
I never told you that my found my hampster. I was playing the Hampster Song, and there she was on the floor staring up at me. I bumped this because I found the video to embed. This will put a smile on your face, or you need to lighten up. I can't believe Hampster Dance is still around. It was so original. The olden days on the Internet were not so long ago. There's a problem with the end of the video, but you can watch it on the website.
